Different type's of tree work we carry out...

Reduction

A tree reduction is where the overall size of the tree is reduced by reducing the height and width. We would do this using access equipment i.e. a cherry picker or by climbing the tree it's self. The branches would be cut back to the desired length making sure every cut is clean and to a living point. This gives the tree a much better chance of recovery.

Felling

We would use the felling technique if it is safe and there is the space to do so. The tree is cut from the base with a precise directional cut. This allows the tree to fall in one direction. Depending on the size of the tree there may need to be a lot of room to allow this to happen. We can also sectional fell trees. This is where the tree is climbed and smaller sections are felled in the desired direction allowing less room to be needed.

Pollarding

Non - Pollard Tree

This is where all the branches are either completely removed or cut back to older knuckles and unions. This technique is commonly used on certain varieties of tree and is a great way to keep on top of a tree that wants to naturally grow much larger.

Technical removals and reductions

Most of the time in this industry a tree needs to be reduced or removed because it is too close to buildings, roads or lines. When it comes to this kind of work the climb is a lot more involved, using ropes and other devices to lower cut branches into clear areas and missing major targets. This is the area that skill, knowledge and experience come into their own. There has never been a job we can’t tackle and we love a challenge.

Large hedge cutting

By large we mean too large for a gardener. This could be too much waste to be removed, too tall or just too much work. We have the equipment to cut and access high, long and awkward hedges. With the use of wood chippers and chip boxes on the back of the vehicles, we can take away large amounts of waste in one go.
